SCADA application for industrials

WHAT: Engineering and providing a SR500 transmission network for the setup of a SCADA system (Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition).

Challenge

Due to the potential hazardous gas emissions for the local population, the energy operator in charge of extracting gas in Karachaganak was required to set up an air quality monitoring system, specifically in very remote locations deprived of telecommunication infrastructure.

Solution

As an integrator, our partner Advantek was in charge of the project globally, including civil engineering work, telecoms and various equipments. As a radio integrator, Duons was in charge of the telecoms part of the project. Following a detailed technical study, Duons chose its SR500 multipoint system to provide the secure transmission of the collected data to a single supervision centre.

Outcome

The monitoring system installed prevents risk to the local population. In the event of a serious risk, the system can set off an evacuation procedure for the affected areas. Extensions of the installed network are in progress.
